Looking to rewild your land? Rewild! can help – join a growing number of landowners across Ireland who are taking action in the face of the biodiversity crisis. Our service, which is free to small landowners and community groups, will help you come up with a plan. You will be part of a network that is breaking barriers in land restoration in Ireland.
Rewild! currently includes ten landowners in eight counties who have pledged land for rewilding. We hope this will grow to include people in every county and become Ireland’s largest rewilding network!
Rewild! is an initiative from Pádraic Fogarty, an ecologist who has worked as a professional consultant and as a campaigner within the environmental NGO sector. He is the author of the 2017 book Whittled Away – Ireland’s Vanishing Nature and is an occasional contributor to media outlets in Ireland and the UK.
WHY REWILD?
Rewilding is the fastest, cheapest and most effective tool at our disposal to reverse the unprecedented loss of nature currently being experienced around the world. It is particularly relevant in Ireland which is among the most nature depleted countries on Earth and where healthy natural ecosystems are virtually non-existent.
